There are three types of CBD oil, each of which can provide different health benefits

When looking for cannabidiol (CBD) products, you’ve probably noticed that there are different cannabinoid spectrum options to choose from. You can buy full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, or CBD isolates. While these three types of products may seem similar, they are actually worlds apart and their benefits can be varied.

If an extract is full-spectrum, this means it contains all the phytochemicals found naturally in the plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. Full-spectrum hemp extracts also have a negligible THC content, below 0.2%.

The full spectrum of active compounds work together to amplify the potential health benefits of each individual cannabinoid. This phenomenon is known as the entourage effect. This version contains terpenes and flavonoids for additional potential health benefits.

Broad spectrum CBD oil contains CBD and all other plant compounds except THC, which is completely removed after the initial extraction. Because broad-spectrum extracts contain multiple cannabinoids, they also produce the entourage effect, but without the THC, which studies show in small traces can enhance the properties attributed to CBD significantly.

Among its benefits are that it offers almost all the advantages of the entourage effect, it is less processed than the isolated one and there is no risk for sensitive people. Broad spectrum extracts are a good option for people living in places where marijuana is strictly regulated.

And finally, there is the CBD isolate. CBD isolate is the purest form of this compound, made by extracting it from its natural environment and removing all other ingredients. The advantage of using CBD isolate over other forms is the higher concentration of CBD per serving. Isolates are typically 99% pure. Since there is no entourage effect, you can benefit only from the effects attributed to CBD.
