As COVID-19 restrictions are relaxed, cannabis enthusiasts have travel destinations to explore

Cannabis tourism contributes to the economy of the places where the plant has already been adopted, creating jobs, adding value to cannabis, and diversifying the services offered to tourists. Since the advance of legalization in many parts of the world, marijuana enthusiasts have been able to start expanding their options and today, they have a wide variety of countries where they can travel knowing that they can consume their daily dose of cannabis without any problem. Even so, it is advisable to study and investigate the laws of each place, to know that you are acting under what is allowed by law since not all of them are always the same.

One of the first countries that should be on the list of destinations for many cannabis lovers is Canada. This country is considered one of the world’s cannabis hotspots. Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are major cities that are dotted with cafes and stores that have played a crucial role in the fight for cannabis legalization in the country. In British Columbia, for example, the origin of many Canadian cannabis strains such as Island Sweet Skink, God Bud, Timewarp, and others has been highlighted.

Going to the other side of the continent, you can find Thailand. This Asia Pacific country is beginning to soften its stance on cannabis. Nearby countries are also working to reform their cannabis laws in an effort to improve the welfare of their people, the local economy, and the tourism industry. Considered the first country in Southeast Asia to legalize medical cannabis, it is now also working to relax its regulations.

And then there is Mexico, already a popular tourist destination in its own right. However, this trend could increase even further, thanks to recent reforms in recreational cannabis consumption legislation. Enterprising locals are already talking about establishing “marijuana villages,” in an effort to make cannabis tours as popular as wine and tequila tours in the country.
