The actor and cannabis entrepreneur found a unique setting to operate his cannabis business

Culture has taught cannabis smokers to hide the habit among plastic bags and odor-covering sprays. However, actor Seth Rogen has been willing to normalize the practice thanks to the various accessories he has created through his company, Houseplant. The producer and actor has taken on the task of opening the frontiers of an ashtray and lighter design to the universe he knows so well and for which he is also known.

The now-famous brand operates out of a Los Angeles bungalow built in 1918. “We didn’t set out to base Houseplant on a house,” says the actor at the start of the tour video on YouTube. “A lot of our products are household items. We found that being able to see them in a home was invaluable.”

As a design enthusiast and collector, Rogen has discovered in the field of ceramics a place of creative expression that has inspired him to materialize pieces aligned with the experience of cannabis consumption, and that also celebrate the beauty of the objects. As a ceramist and great enthusiast of accessories for smokers, the actor founded Houseplant two years ago. It’s a brand ready to fill with good design the homes of those who, like him, enjoy regular cannabis consumption and want their environment to reflect this practice.

During the pandemic, Rogen surprised us all when through his networks, he presented us with some ceramic pieces created by himself. He surprised even more when he published an explanatory video about a tray for cannabis smokers that he had designed after long years of practice and development of expertise as a smoker. Rogen now designs and produces together with his team at Houseplant accessories for contemporary smokers.

While Rogen says the company has a more standard office space, the bungalow provides his team with an additional place to test their products. Houseplant is also committed to creating a listening experience, with vinyl playlists tailored to each cannabis variant.
