The event is designed to raise money for Alzheimer’s research
There have been numerous studies already that cannabis can benefit Alzheimer’s patients. Big Pharma missed its chance, deciding to hide the fact that it had created an Alzheimer’s-fighting drug for years in order to keep boosting its profits from the sale of existing medications. Now that more is being understood about how marijuana can be used to combat the disease, scientists and marijuana enthusiasts want to support more research. A Hollywood celebrity most notable for his involvement in marijuana-related films is helping that research, as well.
Seth Rogen is going to be at the center of an adults-only charity carnival scheduled for this month. Money raised from the event will go toward Alzheimer’s research and will see participation by Rogen and comedians such as Adam Devine, Andrew Rannells, Ben Feldman, Casey Wilson, Ilana Glazer, Ike Barinholtz, Jeff Ross, Josh Gad, Kate Micucci, Nick Kroll, Regina Hall and Riki Lindhome
The Hilarity for Charity County Fair will be held September 13, offering games, rides, food, music and, of course, comedy. Rogen says of the charitable organization, “We here at Hilarity for Charity love to fight Alzheimer’s disease, but we also love rides, alcohol and weed! We also love trying to be good people so that in the event there is an afterlife, we don’t go to hell.”
Rogen has his own line of cannabis products and his been a staunch supporter of marijuana reform. He is also a staunch supporter of Alzheimer’s research, having to watch as the disease attacked his mother-in-law. Given the scientific evidence that cannabis can help Alzheimer’s sufferers and Rogen’s involvement with both, it’s only fitting that he would use his talents to showcase how the two should be looked at more closely.
