Texans looking for something different to do can check out the Pur Isolabs hemp farm

For those living in San Antonio, TX, there is a great hemp farm in Bergheim, just 40 minutes outside of the city, where a tour through the facilities is available. During the tour of Pur Isolabs, visitors can try the multiple cannabidiol (CBD) products made from plants grown on-site. The tours are open to the public twice a day, six days a week, and start in the greenhouse and end in the field.

Pur Isolabs spokesperson Meggan Roundtree said of the tour in an interview with local media outlet KSAT last Friday, “Our team educates guests on everything hemp, from obtaining the hemp seeds to the end of harvest. It’s definitely a sensory tour where you can see, smell, and touch the plants.” She further explained that guests are welcomed with a bottle of CBD-infused water to accompany the walk through the facilities.

The schedule for the tours is from Monday through Friday, one at 11 AM and the other at 5:30 PM. Saturdays have two options, at 11 AM and 2:30 PM. The tour needs to be booked ahead by calling the company and it has a cost of $10 per person. “When the 2018 Farm Bill passed and it became legal to grow hemp in Texas we wanted to take the opportunity to grow and use it as an educational tool so that others could see and touch the plant while learning about it,” said Roundtree. The owner, Austin Ruple, “grew up in South Texas farming peanuts with his family, so this was a natural extension of his background,” she added.
