Ice-T will introduce The Medicine Woman dispensary to New Jersey later this year

The New Jersey Cannabis Control Board unanimously (4-0) approved four applications for adult-use cannabis dispensaries. And the co-owner of one of them is famed rapper, songwriter, actor, and producer Tracy Lauren Marrow, aka Ice-T. The dispensary, called The Medicine Woman, will be located at 660 Tonnelle Ave, just 30 minutes from New York. The opening is expected to take place this fall and is expected to cause a sensation among cannabis lovers and fans of the famous rapper.

Actor, rapper, and New Jersey native Ice-T is getting into the legal recreational marijuana business in the Garden State. Ice-T is joining forces with Charis B, founder of The Medicine Woman cannabis brand, to open a dispensary in Jersey City this fall.

“I have dedicated my life and career to giving back and blazing the trail for minorities. As a native New Jerseyan, I am excited about the opportunity that legalization offers our community and look forward to ushering in a new era for cannabis in the state,” Ice-T said in a statement. “I have partnered with my friend of more than 25 years, Charis B, who is an authority on cannabis and founder of The Medicine Woman, to ensure a superior experience for our customers and community.”

Ice-T was born Tracy Marrow in Newark and has a home in Edgewater. He said he chose Jersey City for his planned dispensary because he loves the city and is there “every night.” The 5,000-square-foot retail space will showcase New Jersey’s best cannabis brands, limited-edition products, education, and inspiration. The new dispensary has pledged to hire staff from the local community and even partner with some charities.

Ice-T is recognized for being one of the first well-known personalities to claim a stake in the industry. It seems he is now looking to be on the lips of many for his big foray into the growing industry.
