LEMONNADE is the latest celebrity-backed cannabis brand to hit the market

Jumping from the music industry to the cannabis industry seems like a common trend nowadays and more music groups and singers are becoming entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry. Grammy-nominated rap duo Run the Jewels (RTJ) is coming to the cannabis market with the brand LEMONNADE, which is an offshoot of the known COOKIES brand founded by another rapper and now cannabis entrepreneur, Berner.
Both Killer Mike and El-P are the new partners who are introducing a new line of cannabis strains to several dispensaries across the US.

The new strains will be introduced to the market one by one, with the first one being RTJ strain called Ooh La La, a reference to the group’s latest album RTJ4. This hybrid aims to deliver “a sensory-heightening head high and a light body feel,” according to a press release announcing the launch. “Ooh La La merges LEMONNADE’s Sativa focus with Killer Mike and El-P’s Indica appreciation for the ideal hybrid strain, with an aroma of spice cake and frosting and flavor of sweet fruit cake with an herbal tea chaser,” adds the press release.

This is not the first collaboration between RTJ and Berner. Killer Mike actually appeared on Berner’s White Album released in 2011, so they have known each other for more than ten years. “Berner is a longtime friend and we have watched him build his empire,” said Killer Mike. “We have huge respect for Berner and what he’s accomplished, and we f*****g love weed, so this is very exciting for us,” added El-P.
