The platform is designed to study the efficacy of cannabis
A project with far-reaching consequences to the cannabis industry is now underway and is looking for volunteers. Project CBD has been designed to collect and distribute information on using cannabidiol (CBD) in therapy, as well as how best the compound can be made effective. The group behind Project CBD has already created a user-friendly, interactive survey that will allow consumers to provide their input into what they have found to work, as well as what doesn’t.
The goal is to maximize the therapeutic benefits of cannabis. That information can go a long way to creating marijuana guidelines and regulations at not just the state level, but at the national level, as well.
The platform will collect and compile the data while providing real-time results based on the input. It will be able to track the impact CBD has on a variety of conditions, providing a much-needed public resource for those that are considering using cannabis as part of their therapy, as well as give lawmakers a considerable amount of live data that can shape policy.
According to the group’s website, “Project CBD is a California-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting and publicizing research into the medical uses of cannabidiol (CBD) and other components of the cannabis plant. We provide educational services for physicians, patients, industry professionals, and the general public.”
Project CBD was initially launched by two journalists in 2010 who were covering medical marijuana. Implemented correctly, it can be one of the most valuable crowdsourcing platforms available for the marijuana industry in the U.S.
