The city is a regular destination for important cannabis events and conventions

A great initiative to bring awareness about cannabis matters has just been announced and it will take place this March. The Natinoal Cannabis Diversity Awareness Convention (NCDAC) is an important feature and, even though it is the second time Portland will be hosting a cannabis-related event, this is the first time for this First-ever TEXT-A-THON!! This is a fundraiser that will look to bring awareness regarding all the men and women that are still in prison due to cannabis offenses, and break any stigma associated with this substance.

The fundraiser will begin on March 1 and all the funds collected will be directed to the cannabis businesses owned by the minority population, with the intention to function as start-up capital. According to the guidelines for this event all funds raised will be distributed. It’s important to connect and educate more business owners of color and invite them to form part of this important economic activity and to encourage social growth.

It’s also interesting to notice those music artists and those in the entertainment industry that are usually left out as if they were criminals for publicly admit consumption of marijuana, and this stigma is similar to the one received by the people of color, which this convention aims to change. This NCDAC event will grant entertainers a place to show themselves, including their brands and type of business to created allies within the cannabis industry and maybe help spread the brand.

For this event, the organizers are asking people with connections in the entertainment industry to help with spreading the word. Some events will take place on March 7-8, 2020. The tickets and further details of this event will be shared on January 10, 2020, through Eventbrite and Facebook.
