The show was supposed to make its debut on Saturday, but had to be removed

A few weeks ago, a brand-new and refreshing cannabis reality show was announced to the public, and it was supposed to be launched on August 15. Now, two days after its expected debut, The Next Marijuana Millionaire is nowhere to be found on any streaming services. The show was to be hosted by Mike “BigMike” Straumietis, the owner of Advanced Nutrients, and the format was similar to a Shark Tank for cannabis entrepreneurs. It was supposed to begin its streaming on Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Pluto TV but, for reasons that are not yet clear, the show is facing a delay and possibly a cancelation, as well.

“We have made the decision to delay the premiere of NMKM in order to ensure we’ve got the best opportunity to do our contestants – and our community – justice,” BigMike posted on Instagram on August 14. “We are confident that we are making the right decision to launch this revolutionary show at a moment when it will have widespread reach and drive a tremendous impact for the cannabis community. Check back for the new premiere date soon.”

Similar, although more pessimistic, news was shared by one of the 16 contestants, Sisters of the Valley, who was also featured in the documentary Breaking Habits. “The Next Marijuana Millionaire show will not be showing on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and other places this Saturday. The show has been pulled from all planned networks, or else, it was never really scheduled. The producers aren’t sharing any information,” wrote Sister of the Valley on its Facebook account. “So as far as we are concerned, it’s been [canceled]. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it is so 1980’s Apprentice with Big Mike making himself look like a Big Shot. Amazon Prime probably pulled it.”
