The American Council of Cannabis Medicine is pooling cannabis resources to spearhead changes

Legislation at the federal level seems to be getting closer and closer, and as time goes on, more and more steps are being taken to make it easier for this to happen. As proof of this, the American Council of Cannabis Medicine (ACCM) recently announced a memorandum of understanding with various stakeholders in the growing cannabis industry. The intent of this memorandum is to increase the pooling of forces so that lawmakers and the industry as a whole can gain a deeper understanding and greater support when it comes to medical cannabis in the country.

With this new initiative, it is hoped that medical cannabis legislation at the federal level will have a clearer path and can come as soon as possible. Jeffrey S. Block, a member of the ASCM Board of Regents, said, “As a practicing physician for nearly 40 years, it is exciting to see the tremendous progress being made regarding the genuine health uses of cannabis. This memorandum represents a step forward in advancing medical access and clinical research.”

Other experts and important members made it clear they are more than pleased to join in this memorandum of understanding, as they have been able to see how ACCM truly shares everything related to their views and values. The Alliance is said to be comprised of more than 200 stakeholders, as well as other entities that provide strong support and accelerate the process toward expanded research and patient access through long-awaited federal action.

Representatives from the Zermatt Medical Institute, the American Society for Cannabis Medicine, Healthcare Freedom Hub, Allegiance and others were part of these meetings. Several ideas were brought together to understand how it would be possible to move the industry to traditional models of medical care. The representatives assert that this would be more feasible if reasonable federal legislation were in place.
