The lifestyle guru is now an advisor to Canopy Growth

Martha Stewart is not just a home decoration and food expert. She is a cannabis enthusiast and is showing off her skills in her new role. Stewart has teamed up with Canopy Growth Corp., where she will serve as an advisor to help the company create a “broad new line” of products for humans and animals.

Stewart’s activity in the marijuana industry is already well known. She has been involved in the industry for years and hosts a cooking show with fellow connoisseur and rapper Snoop Dogg. She said of her new endeavor, “I am delighted to establish this partnership with Canopy Growth and share with them the knowledge I have gained after years of experience in the subject of living. I’m especially looking forward to our first collaboration together, which will offer sensible products for people’s beloved pets.”

Canopy is involved in clinical trials of several cannabis compounds to determine how they can improve health in both humans and animals. The company is exploring the effectiveness of cannabidiol (CBD) to treat anxiety in animals, a topic close to Stewart.

In a recent interview, Canopy’s CEO, Bruce Linton, stated, “It’s really about duration and quality of life for animals that respond well to CBD.” He further added that hemp could have value as an ingredient in pet food given that it is a protein that is easily digested.

Speaking of the inclusion of Stewart into the company’s ensemble, Linton stated, “As soon as you hear the name Martha, you know exactly who we’re talking about. Martha is one of a kind and I am so excited to be able to work alongside this icon to sharpen our CBD produce offerings across categories from human to animal.”

The partnership includes Sequential Brands Group, a consumer brands company of which Stewart is a part and which offers products in the fashion, home and active categories.
