As winter sets in, this hot marijuana drink can be the perfect solution
Pumpkin Spice Latte is a coffee beverage made with a blend of traditional fall spice flavors. The drink is offered by Starbucks, with other seasonal coffees generally available from late August through January. It is so popular in the US that its return to the coffeehouse chain’s offerings marks the true end of summer, sparking a sort of craze that seems to save the franchise’s bottom line every year. However, if you don’t want to pay for whims and want to add your secret touch (marijuana), there is an ideal recipe to enjoy this exquisite drink.
To start this recipe that your palate will appreciate, make sure you have the following ingredients on hand:
2 T canned pumpkin
1/2 t pumpkin pie spice and more for garnish
1/4 gram decarboxylated kief or finely ground decarboxylated hashish
2 T granulated sugar
1 T vanilla extract
2 C whole milk
1/2 C brewed espresso or strong coffee
1/4 C heavy cream, whipped until stiff peaks form (or use canned whipped topping)
Once everything is in order and lined up, start by taking a small saucepan to mix the dry ice kief, pumpkin, and pumpkin pie spice. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat for about 30 seconds. Add the sugar and cook for another 30 seconds. Then, whisk in the vanilla extract and milk. Continue cooking and stirring, until the mixture is very hot, but does not boil.
Remember that to blend, you can use a hand whisk, an immersion blender, or transfer the contents to a blender. Perform this process until well blended and frothy. Next, divide the hot espresso between two cups. Top each cup with half of the pumpkin mixture. Top with whipped cream.
If preferred, garnish the cream with a pinch of pumpkin pie spice or ground nutmeg. Serve and enjoy.
