Creating homemade cannabis oil is easier than you may think

Cannabis oil is known to have properties to treat a range of ailments, including common afflictions such as pain and inflammation. If you don’t want to visit a dispensary in order to pick up a supply, you can make your own in the comfort of your own home. The ingredients are cheap, allowing you to create your own concoction quicker than making homemade brownies. It only requires two ingredients and can be done in any kitchen.

You will need 14 grams of cannabis and 28 ounces of coconut oil. Start by decarboxylating the cannabis, the process that removes the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) from the cannabis. This is done by baking the cannabis on a baking sheet for 45 minutes at 240 degrees. If you’re not a fan of the THC smell, you might want to make sure the windows are open, because the process definitely releases a very distinctive aroma.

Next, heat the coconut oil over low heat until it has melted. Add the decarboxylated cannabis and continue to cook for three hours over low heat. Make sure the mixture doesn’t boil or you can ruin the recipe.

Strain the oil using a cheesecloth, but remember to wear gloves since the mixture will be hot. Once it has cooled, transfer into airtight containers and you’re all set. Your homemade cannabis oil can keep for up to a year when the containers are sealed properly.

To use, pour a small amount of the oil into your hand and rub on the affected area. You will feel the relief in no time.
