The cannabis company continues to expand its nationwide footprint and shape the industry
California continues to be home to many important transactions in the cannabis industry. The Golden State is now witnessing a joining of forces between High Times and Moxie. The deal sees High Times take over the operations of this multi-state cannabis operator in the state, considered the largest legal marijuana market globally.
Moxie is not only the Golden State’s first licensed cannabis company, but also a leading cannabis operator in many other jurisdictions across the country. Its California operations, specifically, will now pass into the hands of High Times Holding Corporation, after recently reaching an acquisition agreement.
As a result of this move, High Times has now opened a myriad of doors to expand its operations in the California market, such as cannabis cultivation and production capabilities to complement its existing portfolio of marijuana properties in the state. The firm already had a notable list of branded dispensaries in the region, offering licensed, high-quality marijuana products. The acquisition gives High Times a leading brand position in the state after expanding its vertically integrated cannabis operation.
“With our current platform of stores, we believe this acquisition will be synergistic in nature for the Moxie brands and provide a good home for their branded products in California,” High Times CEO Paul Henderson said about the deal. Henderson adds that this move opens the door to a whole new world of brands for the High Times organization.
The purchase includes an 11,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and 46,000 square feet of flowering canopy cultivation. This large package gives the company a capacity to produce more than 25,000 pounds of fresh frozen cannabis and up to 3500 pounds of dried cannabis flowers annually for High Times and its associated branded products.
