Darren McCarty supports a new effort that combines cannabis and non-fungible tokens

Darren McCarty, best known for his stellar performance with the Detroit Red Wings and NHL, is now beginning to make a big splash with non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which are making inroads into the cannabis community in a big way. According to recent updates, the executor purchased an NFT from Australian artist TROG, “your favorite cannabis artist,” who now, with the help of McCarty, one of the first purchasers, is launching NFTrogs.

This past January 10, this NFT was initially launched on the Ethereum ERC-20 platform, with plans to be able to go further through other chains such as Binance Chain and others in the near future. It is worth noting that the Ethereum blockchain and its Ether token are second only to the undisputed top spot of Bitcoin (BTC) and its current high value.

The cannabis world comes into play with this new presentation as TROG characters recount their extensive work drawing posters for events in this growing cannabis space. Enthusiasts’ bells may well ring when they see mind-blowing characters from Deadlines or Killer Weed Coloring Book, a collectible book featuring endless portfolios of cannabis event posters.

The first round was unveiled and went on sale three days ago. While it’s true that the characters are individual NFTs from TROG, each comes with its own additional bonus due to the construction of different digital contracts.

On the other hand, McCarty has been giving the cannabis industry a special focus, launching hemp and cannabis flower products through The Darren McCarty Brand in partnership with Pincanna about two years ago.

McCarty purchased NFT TROG #25, one of the first characters available in an NFT. It looks like the four-time Stanley Cup champion is falling in love with two growing markets, and more news may be coming from his old and new forays.
