The Heisman Trophy winner is turning his interest in cannabis into a huge success

In 2016, Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams revealed that he likely lost about $10 million in salary and potential endorsement deals due to his marijuana use after violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy for the third time. While it is true that regret touched the heart of the former NFL star for some time, today, marijuana is paying him back too much. A year after founding his cannabis lifestyle brand “Highsman,” Williams is very proud of what he has accomplished so far.

Heisman and Highsman certainly have a similar pronunciation, something that was surely no coincidence, knowing that Williams won this trophy in 1998 as a running back for Texas. The San Diego native has always maintained that he turned to marijuana to self-medicate for depression and social anxiety disorder, not to mention that it helps ease the pain of daily soccer beatings.

The former player recalled that when he was with the Miami Dolphins, the team doctor would tell him at practice to take it easy, but he said, “I knew damn well I couldn’t, so I had to go it alone and find ways to take better care of myself.” In recent news of note, in mid-September, TILT Holdings announced the launch of Highsman in the state of Massachusetts.

Williams’ brand has been available to patients and adults at TILT’s subsidiary, Commonwealth Alternative Care, in the cities of Brockton, Cambridge, and Taunton, in addition to wholesale dispensaries throughout the Bay State. No doubt his passion for marijuana has led this former football legend to conduct major operations today.
