The list of sports figures who are getting behind the cannabis movement is constantly growing

Being a high-performance athlete comes with a lot of sacrifices that include alterations to sleep routines, rigorous training, simultaneous injuries and crazy schedules. Those athletes have experienced what it is like to push their bodies to the limits to fight for first places, which inevitably has caused most of them to add conventional synthetic drugs to their routines. With cannabis gaining territory and becoming legal in more countries, athletes seemed to have found an alternate option that is a lot safer. Many of those popular athletes are now avid supporters of cannabis reform efforts.

The former NBA Hall of Fame player, Cliff Robinson, is a firm supporter of cannabis. He admitted that, during his 18 years in pro basketball, he used cannabis to keep his anxiety controlled. He got suspended three times throughout his career for marijuana use, and he now owns a cannabis brand.

Eugene Monroe is familiar with cannabis, as he used this plant to treat severe pains he was suffering from when playing for the NFL. He supported the use of medical marijuana while active in the league and even reprimand the NFL for forbidding cannabis use. Even though it cost him his association with the league, he continued fighting in favor of cannabis.

Renowned American golfer Bubba Watson has had a long-term partnership with the popular cannabis firm cbdMD. He has been investing and endorsing the brand because he trusts the products, which he has used personally. He promotes the company’s all-natural products to help people suffering from several health conditions.

The six-time Olympic Gold Medalist in swimming Amy Van Dyken, is included in that list of supporters. She is the spokesman for the cannabis company Kannaway and had decided to endorse cannabis but, more specifically, this brand, as she was able to witness the benefits of cannabis herself. She suffered from paralysis due to a road accident, and she was helped by cannabis for both her physical and mental relief.
