These marijuana-infused chocolate cupcakes are to die for
The Trick or Treat weekend is finally here, and what better way to accompany it with a recipe that will leave all your guests flying through the skies. Halloween, besides being a date where many people wear their best costumes, should also be an excuse to try delicious dishes related to the theme. To that end, decorating your home with marijuana-infused Death by Chocolate cupcakes can be an easy and smart way to stand out from the crowd.
To make this recipe, you will need to go to any haunted supermarket and get the following:
1 box dark chocolate cake mix, 19.25 ounces
1 box instant chocolate pudding mix, 2 ounces
1 C sour cream
1/2 C cannabis-infused oil
1/2 C brewed espresso or strong coffee
4 large eggs
2 C chocolate chips
11 oz good quality dark chocolate
1 C sour cream
6 chocolate sandwich cookies such as Oreo
24 oblong-shaped cookies
Black edible marker
Once you have everything on hand, start making the cupcakes. First, grab a mixer, and in a large bowl, start mixing the dry cake and pudding mixes. Mix together the sour cream, cannabis oil, espresso or coffee, and eggs. Be sure to mix just enough to make the batter thick. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Fill the cupcake molds a little more than half full. A scoop of ice cream is a quick, easy and neat way to fill the cupcake pan. Once done, bake for about 15 minutes or until the top springs back when touched. Remove from the oven and cool the cupcakes completely, out of the pan, on a rack before frosting.
Next comes the preparation of the ganache. Start by chopping the chocolate into small pieces and place them on the top of a double boiler or in a stainless steel bowl suspended over simmering water. Stir until melted and smooth. Then remove from the heat and cool slightly before adding the sour cream. Let cool for about 10 minutes. Grab a small spatula to spread the ganache layer over the top of each cupcake, all the way to the edges.
And finally comes the decoration part. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs and then dip the top of each frosted cookie into the cookie crumb “soil” to cover the surface completely. You can get creative and write “RIP” on each of the cookies with an edible marker. Place some at an angle, remove the bottom of some cookies to make them shorter than others so that the cookies are a little different. If you have trouble getting the cookies to set, a little melted ganache or some Nutella makes an excellent edible “glue.” And voila, you’re all set to enjoy a weekend of scariness.
