The cannabis company hires a former Apple exec to lead its marketing program
Jason White was the Global Head of Marketing for Beats by Dre, a company owned by tech giant Apple. As the top man at the company, he helped the headphones become a globally-recognized brand and a million-dollar industry. Now, Cura Partners is hoping his marketing prowess will be a valuable asset to the cannabis company, bringing White on to be its Chief Marketing Officer.
Prior to Apple, White was the Nike Global Account Director for Wieden + Kennedy and also the Managing Director of the company’s office in Shanghai. He has 19 years’ worth of experience in business management and marketing and those assets will come in handy in an industry that has difficulty marketing its products and services.
According to Cura president and CEO Cameron Forni, “Cannabis is an industry deeply rooted in culture and collaboration, and there is no one better suited to solidify our brand Select’s role in the future of this community than Jason White. Select is already the best-selling cannabis brand on the West Coast, and as we grow around the world, Jason will ensure the brand stays true to its roots in the industry and remains a brand for people from all walks of life.”
Cura was founded in Portland, OR in 2015. It offers a variety of cannabis products, primarily cannabis oils. The company has tripled its revenue in the last 12 months and Forni states, “Our goal is to normalize cannabis and raise the standards so everyone can find a way to consume safely and in a way that fits their lifestyle. Jason’s remarkable experience with brands that impact people’s lives signifies an innovative and bright future for our company and the industry as a whole.”
