Creating healthy habits with cannabis

A new year, a time for new year’s resolutions

Making New Year’s resolutions is easy; sticking to them is a different story. As 2019 is quickly approaching, anyone who wishes to start the new year with a healthy cannabis lifestyle can take advantage of these tips.

Before and after a workout, get into the habit of using cannabis-infused salves. Even if they contain activated tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the salves won’t alter the mind, allowing the workout to be fulfilling without unnecessarily overdoing it.

There are a number of edibles for athletes. However, it would be a good idea to cut back on the sugar intake before a workout. Check the ingredients and use those that provide a healthier experience.

Consuming 5mg, or less, an hour before any type of stretching – whether warming up before a workout or before a yoga session – will stimulate the body and mind. Likewise, following the activity, another 5mg or so will be perfect for the cool-down period.

Going on a brisk walk is viewed by many as more productive than running or jogging and isn’t as hard on the knees. It can, however, still make muscles sore. For those who don’t want to carry around marijuana to puff while walking, carry a vape pen and use it every mile to get a little boost.

Since every body is different, marijuana doses are different, as well. If necessary, create homemade creams or even edibles that match your needs and give you control over the infusion.

The last tip may be the most difficult for some. Don’t lay around the house watching the tube and consuming. If you find that you’re spending more time in front of the TV and not enough being mobile, make the disciplined effort to kick the couch potato habit and force yourself outdoors. It may be difficult at first, but it will get easier as it becomes part of the routine.
