The new relationship should provide better data coverage of the cannabis space
A new partnership was just announced between two companies, Marijuana Business Daily (MJBizDaily) and Cowen, a New York-based firm dedicated to making financial investments. This is an interesting partnership as the goal is for MJBizDaily is to be the distributor of all cannabis industry reports made by Cowen, as well as of any marijuana policy research. This content distribution is expected to be launched by MJBizDaily by the first quarter of 2020.
According to the plan, MJBizDaily will be the exclusive distributor of Cowen’s Washington policy research on the cannabis industry, as well as the reports that are published as part of the series Ahead of The Curve®. And from MJBizDaily, Cowen will obtain a valuable channel for distribution to improve the reach of its contents to more industry participants and investors from different sources.
“This partnership ensures our readers continue to receive the highest-caliber information and business resources produced both internally and via partners like Cowen,” said Chris Walsh, president, and CEO of MJBizDaily in a statement. Vivien Azer, Wall Street analyst for Cowen, will be featuring all cannabis research and Walsh referred to Azer and Cowen’s firm in general as pioneers in the marijuana industry. According to the managing and associate director of research at Cohen, Lisa M.C Thomas, Azer’s “experience, insight and data-driven approach have made her one of the most respected thought leaders in the space.”
This new partnership was just announced at the annual MJBizCon trade show that just started yesterday, and is now the largest gathering so far for medical and recreational marijuana officials from the industry on the whole globe. MJBizCon is expected to draw more than 35,000 people from over 75 countries.
