The actor, comedian and cannabis fan visits Jayden’s Journey, thrilling the crowds

Richard Anthony “Cheech” Marin originally from Los Angeles, CA, is an American actor and comedian, best known for his role in the comedy duo Cheech & Chong during the 1970s and early 1980s. Among his most characteristic traits is his enthusiasm for cannabis (something that was evident from his film decades ago). With Epilepsy Awareness Day being the perfect excuse, Marin decided to visit a famous cannabis dispensary in Modesto.

The actor made a strategic stop at Jayden’s Journey late last week as part of the cannabis dispensary’s Epilepsy Awareness Day festivities. Marin’s participation was accompanied by a large crowd at an event that included a pop-up craft fair for families with local merchants.

Marin, 75, attended the main event, where he met with hundreds of fans who were thrilled by his presence. Marin took his image worldwide in the 1970s when he was part of his famous classic movie. “Up In Smoke” is about a comedy of a pair of pot-smoking hobos with his comedy partner Tommy Chong.

Marin had visited Modesto at least once before. Marin and his partner Chong had performed a show at the Gallo Center for the Arts three years ago. It’s no secret that both Marin and Chong have been iconic stoner personalities over the years, and not at all surprising, as both embrace the culture surrounding the plant with great affection.

Their passion for cannabis has even led them to create their own lines of cannabis, where they both help each other for proper administration. Marin’s marijuana brand is called Cheech’s Stash, named after his thick hair and mustache from the time the movie was filmed.
