Cannabis is becoming more popular for boosting energy
Energy drinks such as Red Bull, NOS and Monster have been used for years as a way to get a quick pick-me-up ahead of a mid-term college exam, an all-nite video game session or even just to get the motor running in the morning in exchange for coffee. However, they come at a price. They have been known to increase the risk of heart problems, they’re loaded with sugars and/or caffeine and sodium. There are now healthier alternatives that provide the same reaction without the negative side effects. This is where cannabis steps in.
There are now cannabis-infused oils that can help give that extra boost of energy. The Root of It All has introduced its GO Cannabis-Infused Essential Oils, which have a base of ginger, rosemary and cardamom – all natural herbs that have been shown to increase stamina. According to the manufacturer, it can provide an hour or two of energy and doesn’t result in a sensation similar to that of a caffeine high.
1906’s Go Energy Chocolate is another possibility. It is infused with 5mg of cannabidiol (CBD) and 5mg of THC, but also contain 75mg of caffeine. The chocolate improves blood flow and increases energy, but the added caffeine may be a cautionary note to some.
One product that has been around for a while is the Sative Energy Buzzin’ Shot by Magic Buzz. It allegedly provides a five-hour boost of energy in a small, two-ounce shot. It contains B vitamins, yerba mate, taurine, 10mg of THC and 160mg of caffeine. Extreme caution is warranted before consuming, however. If your body isn’t used to it, don’t try to down the bottle all at once. Start slow, imbibing only 1/4 to 1/2 bottle until you find your level.
If you want to get rid of your coffee maker but not your coffee, Canyon Cultivation’s DrinkIt Coffee could be the perfect solution. The cold-brew coffee contains 100mg of caffeine and 10mg of THC. Most people recommend adding cream, even if you normally don’t put it in your coffee. This will help increase the bioavailability of the THC content.
For those who don’t drink coffee, there’s tea. The Blissful Black Tea by Stillwater is infused with 10mg of Ripple, which is a water-soluble THC product that is commonly found in other beverages. It will give you the energy you’re looking for in a soft, aromatic presentation.
No matter what your preference is, there are plenty of options available to help stay productive throughout the day without having to rely on products that can damage the body and mind. Check with your budtender for what’s available in your area.
