The cannabis compound provides a number of benefits in regular health and wellness routines

One of the greatest innovations in wellness circles in the past 20 years or so has been the introduction of cannabidiol (CBD) products, from oils to tinctures to shampoos. The cannabis compound is big news these days and the demand is growing exponentially. CBD provides a number of great health benefits, and its inclusion in wellness programs is well-earned.

CBD has been around all along – it’s not exactly a new discovery. We can read about its use in old folk medicine books, but hardly anyone in modern times bothered to extract it from the cannabis plants and market it. The THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) part was obviously the more attractive, more immediately usable part of the plant that swept the nation back in the 1970s.

CBD has now come into its own popularity and its use is getting more and more press every week as new discoveries are being made and documented. Some are put off by the fact that there is no THC in CBD, but that’s the secret to the popularity. If the THC were still there, it would still be taboo, and mothers would certainly not be using it to soothe a child with autism, or worse.

CBD is known to be analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antianxiety, and antipsychotic and a proven aid in reducing seizures that affect so many people today. People who have never smoked marijuana in their lives are swearing by their CBD Oil and telling all of their friends about it as well. Quite a change, and quite a boon for the cannabis industry.
