Actor Chris Evans sat down with a Congressman from Oregon to talk about marijuana reform

Oregon Representative Earl Blumenauer and Actor Chris Evans have a lot in common. Blumenauer has repeatedly and tirelessly fought for causes he believes in, as has Chris Evans in portraying Captain America in ten Hollywood films to date. Blumenauer is a staunch supporter of marijuana reform and he recently met with Captain America on Capitol Hill, where the dynamic duo sat down to discuss how to help speed up the process.

Blumenauer posted about the experience on Twitter, stating, “Enjoyed speaking with Captain America, @ChrisEvans, about marijuana reform, voting rights, and bipartisanship in times of division in the nation’s capital.”

According to a Blumenauer spokesperson, who provided comments about the meeting to Marijuana Moment, the reunion was “part of a project Chris is working on with several members of Congress.” He added, “Earl spoke about issues that he cares about, and marijuana reform was one of them.”

Apparently, Evans is hoping to capitalize on his Captain America persona to help support a project he has created. He hasn’t provided details on the nature of the project, but it is known that he has been meeting with several Congressional members over the past couple of weeks and some believe he could be considering the launch of a political media organization.

Evans isn’t a stranger to the political scene. He is the nephew of Mike Capuano, a former representative from Massachusetts who lost his re-election bid in the midterm elections held last year.
