The gathering will be held this September in Portland

For the fourth year, the Cannabis Science Conference is making its way to Oregon. The conference will be held at the Oregon Convention Center this September and is designed to cover different aspects of the growing industry. This will be the fourth time the conference is held in Portland and this year will see an appearance by special guest Olivia Newton-John.

Newton-John, apart from being an established singer and sometimes-actor, is also a marijuana supporter. She will appear with husband John Easterling and the two are planning on delivering an address called Plant Medicine – A Personal Healing Journey.

The event is organized by CSC Events, LLC. Its founder and CEO, Joshua Crossney, says of the special guests, “Amazon John and Olivia are the perfect duo to deliver our 2019 CSC West plenary address as their passion and drive to continuously advocate for this community is truly inspiring. It has been an honor to work with these two incredible people and their family over the past couple of years. They have consistently demonstrated their passion for medical cannabis and helping others, which will shine brightly during their plenary address. I know our attendees will truly enjoy hearing about their personal journey with cannabis.”

He adds, “We started this conference in Portland and we are grateful for the amazing support that the Portland community has provided us. In many ways, Portland is a world-leader in advancing cannabis science. There have been many amazing collaborations and partnerships that were started right here, and we look forward to fostering many new national and international collaborations this year.”

The conference will be held September 5 and 6 and will see participation from over 3,500 global attendees from more than 25 countries. It will include more than 100 presentations and 160 vendors from around the world will be on hand to showcase their products. Just three years ago, there were only 800 attendees and only 70 vendors.
