cbdMD is now the official partner of Bellator MMA

Aurora Cannabis and Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) signed a unique partnership not too long ago to explore the benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) and other cannabis compounds on athletes. Now, another fight organization is teaming up with the cannabis industry in a partnership that will see cannabis continue to advance through its increasing number of mainstream channels. Bellator MMA (mixed martial arts) has teamed up with cbdMD on an exclusive deal that will see the cannabis product manufacturer become the official CBD partner of the organization.

The multi-year deal will see Bellator matches branded with cbdMD promotional material. The company is behind a line of topicals, tinctures and other CBD products and its president, Caryn Dunayer, says of the deal, “We’re excited to have our company represented in the cage alongside some of the fiercest competitors on the planet. Our partnership with Bellator and Viacom/Paramount will facilitate a unique opportunity to educate athletes and fans about the many benefits of CBD. We believe we’ve started a lasting relationship that will help push both industries into the future.”

cbdMD and Bellator have a relationship that began prior to the company becoming the official CBD partner. It has sponsored certain Bellator-related events, as well as sponsoring Chael Sonnen when he took on Lyoto Mechida at Bellato 222.

Bellator President Scott Coker adds, “I am pleased to welcome cbdMD to the Bellator family. As the sport of MMA continues to evolve, teaming up with innovative partners is equally important, and they are leading the way in a rapidly growing industry.”
