The cannabis MSO is the latest to give Pennsylvania’s cannabis market a push
Pennsylvania is a state whose marijuana industry is flourishing in an incredible way. This has definitely caught the attention of Ascend Wellness, a vertically integrated multi-state operator focused on improving lives through cannabis. As such, the company announced the opening of its dispensary in Scranton, PA, exclusively for medical patients. This location features 3,000 square feet of dispensary floor space and plenty of parking for all visitors.
The Keystone State is starting to become a draw for many cannabis companies, with Ascend included in that list. According to recent reports, the official opening of the new store took place last Friday.
The dispensary is expected to take a similar approach to outlet stores across industries. Its goal is to provide medical patients with a viable and affordable option whenever they seek to treat their conditions through marijuana.
The company claims that this is just the beginning of a new stage of growth in the state. Ascend Scranton is the first of six dispensaries that the operator plans to bring to life in Pennsylvania as time goes on. According to a report four months ago, Pennsylvania has more than 700,000 registered medical cannabis patients, with Scranton being the sixth most populous city in the state.
“Ascend is thrilled to open dispensary doors in Pennsylvania, an exciting emerging medical cannabis market,” confirms Frank Perullo, interim co-CEO, president, and co-founder of Ascend. For his part, Daniel Neville, interim co-CEO and CFO, said the team is clear about the potential of Pennsylvania, which is why they have identified it as a key market to further expand business operations.
