The campus will include medical cannabis production, as well as other products

Denver-based AmeriCann Inc. is building a medical marijuana campus in Freetown, Massachusetts with a price tag of $100 million. It is a one-million-square-foot facility that is designed to designed to produce medical marijuana products. If things go as planned, though, the complex could also develop branded marijuana products, as well.

AmeriCann has created AmericCann Brands Inc. as a wholly owned subsidiary. It is now seeking a license with Massachusetts officials to manufacture consumer packaged goods at the new Massachusetts Medical Cannabis Center, which could include the manufacturing of branded and so-called “white label” marijuana products. White label describes a product that is made by one company and sold by another.

The cultivation and processing center will be a campus that allows multiple marijuana tenants to save time and money by operating under one consolidated roof. The inclusion of consumer packaged goods would cover cannabis beverages, edibles, non-edible products, vaporizers and concentrates.

AmeriCann is a company that designs, builds and finances businesses in the marijuana industry. It will provide product manufacturing support and extraction capabilities at the facility, as well as to additional licensed cannabis farms around the state.

The first building of the campus is now under construction and is expected to be completed by June of next year. The second building is now in the design phase, expected to see construction begin during the first quarter of 2019.
